BYLAWS OF THE NON TRADITONAL STUDENTS FOR HIGHER EDU= CATION

ARTICLE I

SECT= ION 1. NAME:

The name o= f this organization shall be the Association for Non-Traditional in =

Higher Education (herein after “ANTSHE”).

 = ;

SECTION 2.  FISCAL YEAR

The fiscal year of the orga= nization will be July 1 to June 30 annually.

 

ARTICLE II

SECTION 1.   MEMBERSHIP CRITERIA:

Members= hip and opportunities of leadership shall be open to all individuals.  There shall be no discrimination f= or reasons of religion, age, race or color, gender, marital status, sexual orientation, national origin, or disability.

ARTICLE III:FINANCES

SECTION 1.   DUES:

This organ= ization shall have revolving membership.  Each membership shall be

good for 365 days from the receipt of all the necessary items required for membership.

SECTION 2.    STUDENT MEMBERSHIP

Student du= es shall be $20.00 each year.

SECTION 3.  ALUMNUS MEMBERSHIP

            Alumnus membership shall be $50.00  each year.

SECT= ION 4.  PROFESSIONAL MEMBERSHIP 

   &= nbsp;        Professional membership shall be $50.00 each year.

SECTION 5. FRIEND

        &= nbsp;   Friend membership shall be $50.00 each year.

SECT= ION 6.  ORGANIZATIONAL

            = Organizational membership shall be $250.00 each year.

SECT= ION 7. INSTITUTIONAL MEMBE5SHIP

            = Institutional membership shall be $250.00 each year.

 

 

ARTICLE = IV:MEETINGS

SECTION 1: ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING

The associ= ation shall have a minimum of one annual meeting.  The Board of Directors shall deter= mine the date, time and location of the annual meeting.  All active members of the Associat= ion shall be notified of the annual meeting by mail or other appropriate means. 

SECTION 2: ANNUAL MEMBER= SHIP BUSINESS MEETINGS

An annual membership meeting shall be held during the annual conference. Additional meetings of the membership shall be held with the approval of the Board of Directors.

SECTION 3: SPECIAL MEETI= NGS

Members mu= st submit written requests for additional meetings.  Upon approval

by the Board of Directors, members shall be given thirty (30) days notice of t= he time, date, location and purpose(s) of the meeting.

SECTION 4:  BOARD OF DIRECTORS MEETING= S

The Board of Directors shall physically meet a minimum of once a year as determ= ined by the President of the Association.  This meeting will take place in

conjunction with the annual conference of ANTSHE.  The board will also meet bi-monthl= y via teleconference or other electronic means as determined by

the President

SECTION 5:  EXECTIVE BOARD MEETINGS

The Execut= ive Board shall physically meet a minimum of two times per year as determined by the President of the Association.  One meeting will take place in conjunction with the annual conferenc= e of ANTSHE.   The board will = also meet once monthly via teleconference or other electronic means as determine= d by the President.

 

ARTICLE V: ELECTION OF OFFICERS

SECTION 1: ELECTION

The Office= rs of this organization shall be as provided in the Organization’s Constitution, with selection, duties, and terms as provided therein.

SECTION 2: TERMS OF OFFICE

The term o= f office for the Board of Directors shall be two years beginning November 1 and runn= ing through October 31. 

ARTICLE VI:RULES OF ORDER

SECTION 1.  ORDER OF ALL MEETINGS

(a)&= nbsp;   Insofar as they do not conflict with the Bylaws of ANTSHE, policies,

procedures adopted by ANTSHE, this organizations constitution, or laws applicable to n= on  profit organizations, Robert’= ;s Rules of Order Newly Revised shall be the final authority as to parliamenta= ry procedure, provided that this organization is located in a jurisdiction whe= re Robert’s Rules are the recognized authority on parliamentary procedur= e.  If not, the Bylaws of the Organiza= tion shall specify in place of Robert’s Rules the name of the recognized authority in the jurisdiction where the Organization is located.

(b)&= nbsp;  The President may appoint a Parliamentarian at each meeting.

ARTICLE VII:AMENDMENTS

(a)&= nbsp;   These Bylaws may be amended only by a majority of v= otes cast at an

annual business meeting or a special meeting of the voting membership of ANTSHE.

(b)&= nbsp;  Proposed amendments may be submitted by the Board of Directors to the

voting membership of ANTSHE at any time before the membership meeting at which they will be considered.

(c)&= nbsp;   Proposed amendments may also be submitted by member= ship of ANTSHE to

the annual business meeting of ANTSHE as follows: Proposed amendments must be presented in writing to and received by the Board of Directors no later than December 31 before the annual business meeting at which they are to be submitted.  The Board of Direc= tors shall have approved the proposed amendments by the vote of at least two-thi= rds of the active individuals present and voting at the organization business meeting at which a quorum is present
